General Transit Feed Specification

What is GTFS?

General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS) is a standardized format used by public transportation in order to publicly share their routes, stops, time tables, and other service data.  This allows transit information to be easily published, accessed, and built into many different digital tools to help riders plan their trips. GTFS was originally developed by Google and Today is used and supported around the world by many different applications.
