MAINTENANCE WORKER II

Position Overview

Under the direction of the maintenance manager or designee, the maintenance worker II performs maintenance department activities that include HVAC service and repair and other systems requiring specialized training. Duties also include fueling, washing, and cleaning transit vehicles; as well as maintaining transit properties and facilities. Responsible for leading, directing, and training maintenance workers. May receive assignments and directions from lead maintenance personnel. This position provides critical contributions to support Clallam Transit System’s (CTS) mission.


Required Qualifications

Education and Experience: Possess a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (GED) and two years of experience in the practices of facilities maintenance.


Licensures and Certifications: Maintain a valid WA commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement and airbrake restriction removed. Maintain a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate.

RELIEF Paratransit Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative

Position Overview

Responsible for providing paratransit relief dispatcher and customer services representative duties in the absence of the dispatchers or customer service representatives. Primary dispatcher duties include dispatching vehicles and operators ensuring all passenger pickups and returns are made in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. Primary customer service representative duties include evaluating service requests via telephone, scheduling requests, and coordinating service delivery. This is a DOT safety-sensitive position and will require compliance with federal and Clallam Transit System (CTS) drug and alcohol testing requirements.


Required Qualifications

Current CTS employees who:

  • Successfully completed their probationary period

OR

  • Has one year transit/transportation experience and/or one year in transit/transportation dispatch; or two years’ experience in a related field involving vehicle coordination.

OR

  • Any satisfactory equivalent combination of related experience and training that provides required knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Working Conditions

Work hours will be assigned as needed and may include evenings and weekends. The candidate will be paid their current hourly base wage during the training period. Upon successful completion of the training, the compensation for all hours worked as a relief paratransit dispatcher shall be paid at 115% of the paratransit operator position at the employee’s current step. The compensation for hours worked as a customer service representative shall be paid at the employee’s current rate of pay or at 115% of the customer service representatives pay scale, whichever is higher.
