NEW Transit Operator

Position Overview
Responsible for operating public transit vehicles to transport passengers to various destinations within the service area in a safe, timely, and professional manner. This position provides critical contributions to support Clallam Transit System’s (CTS) mission to enhance quality of life, bolster mobility, and create opportunities through transit.
Compensation
$27.57-$34.46 per hour: Starting wage is $27.57 per hour, moving $29.29 per hour after successful completion of the 180-day probationary period. Operators receive pay increases on their anniversaries up to $34.46 (2024-2026 wage scale) and annual cost of living increases.
Summary of Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or high school equivalency.
- Five consecutive years of licensed driving experience.
- A valid driver's license or ability to obtain.
- Meet all requirements and obtain a class B Washington State commercial driver's license (CDL), with proper licensure, during training period.

Operations Supervisor

Position Overview
Under the general direction of the operations manager, the operations supervisor supervises the daily activities of fixed-route and paratransit services. Responsibilities include providing guidance, training, support, and counseling to assigned personnel; investigating accidents and incidents; and public comment processing.
Compensation
Salary range: $38.69-$52.03/hour depending on experience.
Summary of Required Qualifications
- Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalency, 3 years of supervisory experience preferred, which is defined as the authority/influence to hire, separate, discipline, and evaluate employee performance, or to otherwise directly affect an employee’s employment.
- Licensures and Certifications: Valid Washington State commercial driver’s license, with a passenger endorsement and air-brake restriction removed, or the ability to obtain within the probationary period.

Relief Paratransit Dispatcher/CSR

Position Overview
Responsible for providing relief paratransit dispatcher and customer services representative duties in the absence of the dispatchers or customer service representatives. Primary dispatcher duties include dispatching vehicles and operators ensuring all passenger pickups and returns are made in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. Primary customer service representative duties include evaluating service requests via telephone, scheduling requests, and coordinating service delivery.
Compensation
The candidate will be paid their current hourly base wage during the training period. Upon successful completion of the training, compensation for relief dispatcher will be 115% of the assigned paratransit operator’s current wage, at the appropriate step. Compensation for relief customer service representative will be compensated at their regular rate of pay.
Summary of Required Qualifications
Current CTS employees who:
- Successfully completed their probationary period.
OR
- Has one year transit/transportation experience and/or one year in transit/transportation dispatch; or two years’ experience in a related field involving vehicle coordination.
OR
- Any satisfactory equivalent combination of related experience and training that provides required knowledge, abilities, and skills.
